Research Activities
The following areas of medical informatics are in the main focus of the research activities of the Institute of Medical Informatics:
In the field of medical image processing and virtual reality simulation image processing methods, algorithms and software systems are developed for computer-based diagnostic and therapy. By using methods of semantic interoperability (semantic plug and play) cross-institutional health care delivery processes can be improved. This is mainly achieved by utilizing heterogeneous patient and device data in health care in order to enable computer-based exchange, analysis and decision support.
